The Climatic Change
It’s a reality that everybody accepts nowadays. It’s calculated that in Spain the temperatures will increase around 0.4 and 0.7ºC each 10 years. This will carry the necessity of modifying the areas of vineyards plantation looking for fresh ones.
From the beginning we bore this reality in mind. The Ribera del Duero Wine Appellation enlarge in a wide land with altitude from 700m to more than 1000m. That’s why, we look for parcels situated in areas of greater altitude and northern orientated. This criteria was also applied for choosing the vineyards of the vine growers, whom we buy the grapes. So, the grapes come from vineyards with 800m or more than 1000m of altitude.
The Ecology
For having lasting vineyards, we are convinced that it’s necessary to be respectful with the environment. This is the reason why, from the beginning we worked using natural phitosanitary treatments and without herbicides. This requirement is also applied by our grape suppliers.
With the purpose of certifying these techniques, our vines are turning into organic agriculture.
